Invictus Gaming Overview
Invictus Gaming, shortened as iG, is a Chinese esports organization with teams in Counter-Strike, League of Legends, Dota 2, Starcraft and Hearthstone. It was founded in 2011 by Wang Si-Cong, one of the richest men in the country, who acquired the roster of Catastrophic Cruel Memory for 6 million USD.
Invictus Gaming’s LOL and Dota 2 rosters are among the best in the world, often reaching the late stages of major tournaments they take part in. IG Dota’s 2 team is an International trophy holder, winning the second edition of the famous tournament in 2012. Since then, the team qualified for the event as recent as 2018 but without any massive accomplishments. In 2019, the roster’s biggest achievement is the first place at the DOTA Summit 11 event in Los Angeles.
Invictus Gaming’s LOL team had considerably better results in the past two years, winning the 2018 World Championship, taking first place of the LPL Spring Split 2019 and finishing 3rd at the 2019 edition of the Worlds.
Thanks to their achievements in Dota 2 and LOL, Invictus Gaming is one of the highest-earning esports teams in the world, with over 10 million USD won so far from over 400 tournaments.
