MAD Lions Overview
MAD Lions are a Spanish esports organization formed in 2017 with teams in League of Legends, Clash Royale, CS:GO, and FIFA.
In May 2019, MAD Lions was acquired by OverActive Media, the parent company of Splyce, which then moved the Splyce Vipers roster to MAD Lions. On December 3rd 2019, the two organizations were merged to form a single organization operating under a new MAD Lions brand. To strengthen their CSGO team, in December 2019 they announced the acquisition of Danish esports organization Tricked Esports.
MAD Lions LOL
In professional League of Legends, the original roster was considered a mid-tier team, with their biggest result in a Major tournament coming in 2018 when they won the European Masters Summer event. As Splyce, the team managed a qualification to the LOL World Championships in 2016 and 2019. In 2019, they finished 7th.
MAD Lions CS GO
In Counter Strike: Global Offensive, the organization achieved an honorable 3rd spot a the DreamHack Open Sevilla 2019 and in early 2020 they won the European Qualifier for the DreamHack Leipzig 2020.
MAD Lions also manage the Toronto Defiant spot in the Overwatch League and the Toronto Ultra spot in the Call of Duty League.In January 2020, they announced the launch of its own Academy team called MAD Lions Madrid.
