NRG Esports Overview
NRG Esports is one of the largest US esports organizations, with rosters in Apex Legends, Overwatch, Call of Duty, Fortnite, Clash Royale, Hearthstone and many more.
It was launched in 2015 and quickly rose to fame as it attracted names such as Shaquille O’Neal, Jennifer Lopez, and Tiesto as investors. NRG owns San Francisco Shock one of the top teams active in the Overwatch League and in 2019 sold its CSGO roster to Evil Geniuses.
NRG is also one of the first orgs to sign a professional Apex Legends player with the signing of Coby “Dizzy” Meadows. Its Rocket League team is one of the best in the world, with some amazing results in the Rocket League Championship Series in 2018 and 2019. This year, EpikWhale, representing NRG in the Fortnite World Cup Finals managed to finish 3rd in the tournament, winning $1,200,000.
