DPC North America Overview
Tournament Overview
As all the DPC Regional leagues, the North American division of the Dota Pro Circuit is divided into an Upper and a Lower division of 8 teams each. This season the Upper Division became Division I and the Lower Division, Division II, but the understandings are the same.
The event will take place between 14 March – 22 April 2022, with a total prize pool of $280,000 ($205,000 Upper Division and $75,000 Lower Division).
Schedule
The tournament is taking place between March 14th and April 22, 2022, with a total of 16 teams. The Upper Division starts one day later, on 15 March.
DPC North America Format
Division I
The event is taking place with 8 teams: 2 teams from the Division II’s last season and the other six from the last’s season Division I. The format is round-robin and all matches are Bo3.
Just as DPC SA, 1st place team will qualify in Major Playoffs, 2nd place team on the Major Group Stage. The bottom two teams are relegated to the Division II of Season 2, and the remaining teams will be maintained in the current division for Season 2.
Division II
Division II’s teams mostly are from DPC NA 2021: two teams from the Division I, 4 teams from the Division II, and the other 2 teams get qualified from the Closed Qualifiers.
The format is round-robin with Bo3 matches.
The top two teams are qualified to the Division I of Season 2, the bottom two are eliminated and the remaining teams are maintained in the current division for Season 2.
Prize Pool
The total prize pool for the event is $280,000 divided as shown below:
The Upper Division has a prize pool of $205,000:
- 1st place – $30,000
- 2nd place -$28,000
- 3rd place – $27,000
- 4th place – $26,000
- 5th place – $25,000
- 6th place – $24,000
- 7th place – $23,000
- 8th place – $22,000
The Lower Division has a prize pool of $75,000:
- 1st place – $17,000
- 2nd place – $16,000
- 3rd place – $15,000
- 4th place – $11,000
- 5th place – $9,000
- 6th place – $7,000
