Who is in for the Singapore Major? Teams Qualified so far!
The Regionals for Dota Pro Circuit are over and we’ve got the results we’ve been waiting for.
Even for some regionals, the winners were clear from the beginning, for others the tournament came with surprises and twists.
The Singapore Major’s format is made with a total of 18 teams. 4 teams each will be from Europe and China, 3 teams each Southeast Asia and CIS, two teams each North and South America.
Team Secret, Alliance, Team Nigma, Team Liquid are the 4 teams from DPC Europe Upper Division that will be part of Singapore Major. Alliance’s 2-1 victory against Team Liquid, ranked the team as the runner up, seeding directly into the Major group stages and leaving Team Liquid and Nigma for the Wild Card.
DPC China is not finished yet but we are almost sure we will see Invictus Gaming, Vici Gaming and Team Aster in the Major. We will keep you updated once the regional is over.
The winner of Southeast Asia Regional is Fnatic and the Runner Up is Neon Esports.
Fnatic is the first Dota 2 team to qualify for the Major, after beating perennial rivals TNC Predat 2-1 in the final league. Even though T1 and Neon Esports had the same 5-2 record, after the additional best-of-one game played on February 27, Neon Eports won the match and secured a place for the Major’s Group Stages and leave T1 for the Wild Card.
For the CIS Region the three teams quaified for the Major are no surprise at all. Virtus.pro won the first place and went directly to the playoffs, Natus Vincere in the Major group stage and As Monaco Gambit in the Wild Card.
South America has two teams for the two spots at the Major. These are: beastcoast that we will see playing in the playoffs and Wild Card for the Major group stages.
Both teams had an amazing performance and unexpected tactics for this regional so we cannot wait to watch them in the Major.
Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew won the competition and have earned the spots as the representatives of the North American region in Singapore Major.
North America has two spots for the Major and this led to a three-way playoff between: Quincy Crew, Evil Geniuses and Undying.
All three teams were tied in overall record at the end of the regular season, sitting with 6-1 marks and only dropping a series to each other.
You can watch Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew winning games here.
