PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Overview
PGL Major Stockholm is going to be one of the biggest CSGO tournaments of 2021 and it will take place in Sweden’s capital, at the Ericsson Globe.
24 teams will play for the grand prize of $2,000,000 USD. There will be 3 categories of teams: Legendes, Challengers, and Contenders. Some of the participating teams are: Astralis, NaVi, Team Spirit, TYLOO, Gambit, and BIG.
PGL Major Stockholm Schedule
PGL Major will take place in Stockholm starting on 23rd October and ending on 7th November.
Event Format
Each stage has its own rules, but they are not too different from each other. The chosen format is the Swiss System: 5 rounds and the finals.
The New Challengers Stage’s Top 8 Teams proceed to The New Legends Stage and the bottom 8 teams are eliminated.
Top 8 Teams from The New Legends Stage proceed to The New Champions Stage and the bottom 8 are eliminated as well.
The New Champions Stage is a single-elimination bracket format where the quarterfinals and semifinals are best of 3.
PGL Major Prize Pool
The total prize pool for the event is $2,000,000 and the first place takes half of it. Second place will get $300,000 and 3rd $140,000.
Teams participating in PGL Major Stockholm
24 teams will qualify into 3 major categories:
- Legends – 3 teams from European Major Rankings, 3 teams from North America Major Rankins and 2 from CIS Major Rankings
- The Legends are: Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, Natus Vincere, Gambit Esports.
- The Legends are: Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, Natus Vincere, Gambit Esports.
- Challengers – 6 teams will qualify from European Major Rankings and one team each North America and CIS Major Rankings
- The Challengers are: Astralis, ENCE, BIG, Movistar Riders, Heroic, MOUZ, paiN Gaming, Team Spirit.

- Contenders – 2 teams from Europe and CIS Major Rankings and one team each North and South America, Asia Major Rankings
