RLCS 2022 World Championship Overview
Tournament Overview
RLCS 2022 – World Championship is the second RLCS season in 2021. The format has 3 splits – Fall, Winter, Spring. Each has 3 regional events and a major. Within all these events, each team has to collect points that will determine whether they will qualify for the World Championship or not.
Schedule
The RLCS 2022 – World Championship will take place in Dallas, United States at the Dickies Arena between 4th and 14th August. The qualifications for RLCS started in October 2021 and end in June 2022. There will be 24 teams, each with 3 players.
Format
The Wildcard will have a total of 24 teams and a 16 Team Swiss System Format. The matches are Bo5 and the first 16 teams will advance to the Group Stage.
Group Stage starts on August 9th and will split the 16 teams into 2 equal groups. All matches are Bo7 with a Double Elimination Bracket. Top 8 advance to Playoffs.
The Play offs are a Single Elimination Bracket with Bo7 matches. The Grand Finals, a Bo3 set for a Bo7.
Prize Pool
The total prize pool for RLCS 2022 – World Championship is $2,085,000. The first placed team will get $600,000 and the rest as following:
- 2nd: $400,000
- 3rd -4th: $200,000
- 5th-8th: $100,000
- 9th-12th: $30,000
- 13th-16th: $20,000
- 17th-19th: $13,600
- 20th-22nd: $10,200
- 23rd-24th: $6,800
