Team Burjui Disqualified From DPC Dreamleague Europe

Team burjui was disqualified from the Dota Pro Circuit Europe Regional League after the team submitted a positive COVID-19 rest result for a player in order to obtain a transfer.

The announcement was made by DreamHack on February 17, just one week before the end of the tournament.

Burjui requested an emergency player transfer, having already expended the allowed substitution for four matches per season, citing medical reasons. The team submitted a positive COVID-19 test result as evidence.

After asking for additional information or evidence for the further investigation and being declined by everyone from the team, DreamHack made the decision of disqualifying burjui.

DreamHack wrote

“The information to request the emergency transfer conflicted with previous information provided by the team and triggered an investigation,” “At the same time, the positive COVID-19 test result was inspected… and it was discovered that the document was forged.”

All of their matches will be forfeited, with all upcoming series canceled and previous opponents handed a win. Burjui is the second team eliminated from DreamLeague DPC EU 2021, after Meta4Pro voluntary withdrawal.

Meta4Pro voluntary withdrawal because the management suspected a player for match-fixing.

Even though these 2 teams are no longer in the competition, the rest of 6 continue to fight for the first two places to upgrade to upper division for season 2 and of course for the shared prize of $75,000.
