LCS 2022 Overview
LCS the North American League of Legends Championship Series will kick off its official 2022 season on February 5th with its Spring split.
But, before all that, fans will get another opportunity to see their favourite teams during the LCS Lock-In event. LCS weekly match schedule will feature games on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.
The winner will get a $100,000 and the chance to compete in the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.
LCS 2022 Schedule
LCS Spring Split:
- Start date: 5th February
- End date: 24th April
LCS Summer Split

League of Legends Championship Series Format
Regular Season – Group Stage
The Spring and Summer splits will continue to operate on a 9-week regular season, featuring a double round-robin Group Stage.
The 10 participating teams in the LCS will each play a total of 18 Best of 1 matches. The top 6 teams (8 teams for the Summer season) qualify for the Playoffs.
Spring Playoffs
After the Spring Split regular season, the top 6 teams from the regular season will advance to the Best of 5 bracket. The winner of the 2022 LCS Spring Finals will advance to the Mid-Season Invitational and get a $100,000 prize.
Summer Playoffs
For this year, we do not have, yet, the information updated but following the last seasons we can see that the Summer Split Playoffs do not have many changes. After the regular Summer season, there will be 8 teams that will advance into the Playoffs and a Best of 5 bracket. The top three teams from 2022 LCS Summer Playoffs will qualify for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.
As such, there will no longer be a Regional Qualifier or Championship Points.
